From In-House Pilot to Field Deployment
Volt Controls partnered with Lithios to provide electrical engineering and industrial automation services for two pilot-scale lithium extraction systems supporting the development and deployment of Lithios' advanced extraction technology.
Our involvement began with Lithios' initial in-house pilot system and continued with a second, deployable system designed for operation at a customer site in the Southern US.
Across both projects, Volt Controls provided electrical design, control panel engineering, automation programming, and system integration services, supporting the equipment from initial development through testing and commissioning.
Scope of Work
Volt Controls provided a comprehensive range of electrical and automation services, including:
Electrical Engineering
Development of electrical schematics and control system documentation.
Control Panel Design & Fabrication
Design of industrial control panels and hands-on fabrication support.
Electrical Installation
Wiring and integration of control panels, instrumentation, and process equipment.
PLC Programming
Development of automated operating sequences, equipment control logic, alarms, and interlocks.
HMI Development
Operator interfaces for process monitoring, system operation, and troubleshooting.
System Integration
Coordination of electrical and automation components with the mechanical process equipment.
Testing & Commissioning
Support during factory acceptance testing, troubleshooting, and system startup, including on-site commissioning of the second system in the Southern US.
From Initial Pilot to Field Deployment
The first project involved developing and integrating the electrical and automation systems for Lithios' in-house pilot equipment.
Following that engagement, Volt Controls was selected to provide similar services for a second system intended for deployment at an external customer facility.
Building on experience gained during the initial project, Volt Controls supported the second system through electrical integration, programming, testing, and field commissioning in the Southern US.
This progression demonstrates our ability to support evolving process equipment designs, from early-stage pilot development through subsequent builds and field deployment.
